About Me

I am a faculty member in the Learning, Design, & Technology Technology Graduate Program in the College of Education at the University of Houston. I have been teaching in the College of Education at UH since 1993. Prior to that, I earned a bachelor's degree in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina and a Master's degree and a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education. My doctoral research focused on the creation of a public education network for teachers as well as their use of the Internet and the benefits of online communication.

My interests include instructional technology training for the professional development of teachers and educational administrators; the design and development of community-based websites; the educational uses of digital photography, digital video, and digital storytelling; and the use of technology to support education in the health sciences.

In addition to teaching courses on the University of Houston campus, I also serve as the program coordinator for the Graduate Programs in Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in Teaching and Learning for Health Sciences Education which the University of Houston offers on the campus of the Texas Medical Center. More information about that programs may be found online at: http://www.uh.edu/uhtoday/archives/2007/december-2007/121107_teachingdoctors.php
